The Child Who Changed My Life
By Briann Murphy

In 2009, my brother and sister-in-law had their first son, Evan who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Evan has gone through eye surgery, heart surgery, and all the therapy he could get until he was three years old, which he turned in December. Evan has brought new meaning to my life, and has taught me to love everyday like it is your last and to enjoy the world with love and kindness. May I repeat myself, he is only 3 years old. I have learned not to use the ‘R’ word because he means the world to me, and people do not deserve to hear this word. He is just like an other person in this world, and no one should treat him differently because of a word.
